ABOUT ME

Personal Trainer with a smile.

Hi, I'm Hilary, Personal Trainer & Owner of Hilary's Health and Fitness, Portishead, Bristol.

​

My experiences have taught me that fitness can bring you confidence as well as better physical and mental health.

​

In particular I enjoy working with women who struggle with holding their head up tall and encouraging them to  live a more complete life rather than hiding in the background, dodging social situations and feeling depressed.

​

My background in health and fitness takes me way back to my childhood where I struggled academically. Dyslexia was a great barrier throughout my school education and it still effects me to this day.

I soon found that Sports and Exercise was something I could express myself through and it opened a new world for me. Written exams would give me severe anxiety and on the other hand I would relish the challenge of a P.E practical assessment. 

 

Dancing and Singing were hobbies of mine outside of school and this led me to Colchester Institute & Performing Arts College where I would study Musical Theatre and go on to complete my Degree.

Since leaving college I have widened my skill set and experience within the fitness industry teaching various classes including Boxing fit and Circuits to name a few. I also added Level 2 Exercise to Music Certificate and Les Mills Instructor Certificate to my armoury.

​

After 8 years in the fitness industry here in the UK, I then ventured across the globe to Australia where I spent 2 years doing a mixture of Gymnastics, Boot camps and 1x1 Personal Training. 

​

I moved back to the UK in 2019 and settled in Portishead and instantly fell in love with the place. 

​

I believe living a healthy lifestyle begins with maintaining a strong and fit body. I consider myself a motivator and pride myself in specified training to meet my clients needs. For me it's so important to laugh and enjoy your training and I bring this with a fun, energetic approach, accompanied with an abundance of knowledge and experience. I love the feeling of helping people towards their goals and it is so rewarding to hear my clients success stories.

Since being back I have furthered my education within the fitness industry with Level 2 Fitness Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer Certificates. I became a Fitness Instructor at The Village Gym, Bristol before starting Hilary's Health and Fitness in 2020.

​

I now operate from my private gym studio space and would love to help you at whatever stage you are, on your fitness journey.
